If I am being totally honest, it has been a considerable amount of time since I’ve used a hefty, billowy DTL kit, largely relying on the assistance of the ever abundant pod system.
When I was asked to review this device, I was a little apprehensive due to the relatively limited amount of experience I’ve had with similar setups.
After thoroughly putting the Armour G kit through its paces, and rigorously testing all of its wonderful aspects, I feel I can provide an in depth look at this smart, powerful and ergonomically pleasing device.

Inside the Amour G Kit

The Vaporesso Armour G kit includes the Armour G, a G Series Pod (DTL), a pre-installed 0.2Ω GTX Mesh Coil, an additional 0.4Ω GTX Mesh Coil, a TYPE-C Cable, and a User Manual and Warranty Card.
Design & Appearance
Starting with the industrial looking exterior, you will likely agree that the Armour G boasts a tough vibe, fusing robust metal with a refined leather finish.
The device I received had a gunmetal frame and a brown leather grip, although there are quite a few awesome colour combinations available with this device.
With ease of use and customisability in mind, Vaporesso has chosen to include a 0.96 inch colour screen, a fire button, – and + buttons and a lock/unlock switch.
The surprisingly crisp, colour screen keeps you up to date with things like battery percentage, wattage levels, coil resistance, mode selection and even a puff counter (If you are ever curious to see your vaping patterns).
Nearing the bottom of the Armour G, you will find an almost inconspicuous USB C port.

Battery Power
Packing a truly impressive 3000mAh built in battery, you know you can be safe from running out of battery throughout the day.
If, however, you do run out of power, this kit will rapidly recharge via the aforementioned USB C port.
Performance
In order to accommodate vapers with all preferences, Vaporesso has got both DTL and MTL options for tanks/pods, however, I will be focussing on just the DTL version today.
Pods are crafted with a durable and sturdy plastic that is very easy to see your liquid level through, and they click securely to the device via high quality magnets.
They also feature an airflow adjustment ring, catering for everyone’s personal preference when it comes to the tightness/looseness of the draw.
Pumping up from just 5 to 80 Watts, you have the opportunity to get a really hefty inhale when using the included GTX Mesh coils.
I chose to test out the 0.2ohm coils pushing at just 55W, and boy is the flavour smooth yet intense, with billowy cloud production.
As a daily user of pod systems and high nicotine, I was unsure how I’d get on when it came time for full on inhales and low strength nicotine, but I actually really took to it.
The GTX Mesh Coils offer a careful balance between bold flavour, smooth exhales and long lasting coil longevity.
My 0.2ohm coil has been going quite some time now, with no hints of burning or flavour dissipation yet, something I find rather uncommon, especially in conjunction with high VG e-liquids.
Another thing I have been missing out on by solely using MTL setups, is the immensity of the vapour produced when exhaling. Soon filling the room, I was surrounded by a subtly sweet fog, something I feel most ‘cloud chasers’ will enjoy.
Boasting several different modes, you can cycle between Smart Mode, Pulse Mode and Eco Mode.
Smart Mode automatically recognises your coil choice and then selects the ideal wattage, Pulse Mode enhances the flavour and power of your vaping experience and Eco Mode focusses on battery preservation.
Thanks to the Armour G’s thoughtfully designed solidity, the effects of accidental drops or knocks were almost nonexistent. The tough resilience also gave this kit a weighty, high quality feel.
Overall thoughts on the Armour G
I thoroughly enjoyed using this device, despite it not being my ‘go to’ style of vaping, and it was refreshing to go back to my roots as a sub ohm, DTL vaper.
Because this kit offers such a satisfying DTL experience, I would highly recommend it to vapers that enjoy that style of inhale, and those who prefer a low level nicotine.
I would say that the Armour G provides a meticulously crafted, user friendly reliability that Vaporesso is known for, whilst retaining a solid and satisfying performance.
Pros
- It feels sturdy and has a solid weightiness
- Very easy to operate
- Coil longevity was impressive
- Flavour and cloud production were sublime
- Battery life was dependable
Cons
- Not a con, per se, but I would’ve liked to have tried the MTL version pod, to see how that would compare with other MTL setups I have used in the past
